I stopped in here today for lunch and was greeted at the register after a minute or two by a friendly and smiling face. The young lady was very helpful when I told that I had never been here before. She made some suggestions and talked about the specials. I decided on the spicy chicken but without the bun. It came with Cole slaw and pickles. I added a side of the brisket baked beans. Take out, of the sampler. Carolina gold and bourbon sauces are my favorites. Thursday, the sampler is the special. The rib meat sticks to the rib bones, but still is moist and tender, I don't like it when it falls from the bone. All the meats are fantastic. Sausage is a little spicy and may have some cheese in it, wow. Greens are great, scalloped corn is a "cornbread casserole" which is great too, but a little on the sweeter side. The fella that took our order was so nice and helpful. Plenty of food for two!
Completely awesome! Beef and pork belly burnt ends were my favorite. Ribs and rib tips were good too.
Ive lived in NC and I love bbq and this place understood the assignment! Went to Rudy's last night for dinner. Their special for the night was their sampler platter with toast, 2 sides, and 2 drinks for $25.99. Pulled pork, pulled chicken, turkey, brisket, sausage, and ribs with scalloped corn (more like corn pudding) and mac and cheese. Enough food for me and my boyfriend and leftovers for lunch for him!! Food is unbelievable, service was great the ambiance of the restaurant was home feeling unlimited pickles! And they have franks red hot on deck!
It's not as good as North or South Carolina, however, it A+ in Ohio. It's cooked just right. The BBQ sauce is great and the sides are great. It's worth going out of your way just for the pulled pork sandwich. Pick a good time to go because the parking lot fills up and there are long lines at dinner time. The people working the counters are nice but a bit frazzled. There isn't a lot of ambiance but you won't care because their BBQ tastes so good.

Had the pulled pork sandwich and mac n cheese lunch special. The pulled pork was smoky and moist, better than average bbq. The Mac and cheese could use a little more cheese sauce but wasn't bad. The fountain drinks were non traditional and that was a nice surprise. I had a black cherry soda. Overall, a better choice for lunch than the chain restaurants around it.
Heard this is a must visit in Springfield so we stopped in. We didn't realize this was a counter service restaurant and our food came out quickly. The cornbread size was very generous, plenty to share. The baked beans were our favorite side and the pulled chicken had really nice flavor.
