This spot has gone downhill terribly. The meat has gone from award winning to can't even give it away. The sides and tea and lemonade are the best thing on the menu. Worst ribs and chicken in the state. An amateur can cook better stuff at home than pay the high prices that this place has. And come to find out, they don't charge tax. They have a 10 percent surcharge which is basically a 10 percent tax. If you have the option to go ANYWHERE else, do it. They need to trim the meat better. Nobody likes tendons in ribs. Placed online order 38 hours in advance for curbside pick up. Our order was paid in full. Please see attached photo. When arrived to pick up order, associate let us know they had "run out of beef brisket". Rudy's had our email and phone number that could have (should have) been used to let us know they had "run out of beef brisket". We could have made other meal plans. My most recent visit noticeably the cost is much more than ever before now. The worse experience ever though due to their employees NOT wearing gloves yet serving food and wiping their hands on their sides and on the back of their pants every time between orders. It was GROSS now to think I paid $62 to feed my parents and my 4 children... I got to show up with this meal.. knowing that their employees didn't wear gloves to pack it up! This place has been a favorite of ours for a very long time. We drive 40 minutes just to get some of their good bbq. In the last few months the place has begun to slip and our last 2 trips in June the food hasn't even been edible. All 3 of us got the brisket again last night and it was mostly fat. What wasn't fat was extremely chewy and simply not good. My wife and daughter threw their entire plate of brisket in the trash and ate the bun and sides. Even my favorite potato salad was awful. Baby K and I needed something on a road trip, and I wanted more than fast food (she was iffy about that.) Not too far from the highway, mac and cheese for her, BBQ for me, so, let's go. Plentiful and easily accessible parking. "Generic BBQ place" decor. Order at the counter and eat in (though that was not at all clear.) Good tasting food when they had it. Been here twice and both time they have been out of two or more meats. Ordered my food and they waited 20 minutes to tell me they were out of the chicken.

Visited here for the second time. Had the smoked turkey sandwich, potato salad and scalloped corn. The sandwich was very small. Only 2 modest slices of turkey on it. Potato salad was ok and I only ate half of the corn. Spent $13 for everything but again the helpings weren't substantial. They have 3 sauces. Sweet, Carolina and hot. The hot was watery. The Carolina looked coagulated but tasted ok. The sweet was the best. Probably the last time I'll visit. Didn't hate it but was disappointed.

Although the food was relatively good, it would have been nice to get the food I ordered. Ordered 1/2 slab of ribs and brisket with mac and cheese and coleslaw...no brisket. Ordered half chicken with fruit and corn. No corn. I'm glad I was only stuck here for 2 days, Between Bob Evans and this place, I have the idea nobody gets what they ordered, just whatever they feel like giving you. But the food was good.
