Apex Clean Air came into my home to clean out my air ducts. I used a coupon in the mail for "$49 for 10 supply vents, one return(which we don't have), and one main." He comes in and counts vents and I am good everywhere but charges me an extra $170 for two mains?! However, I only have one and its included! He goes off on something I didn't even know what he was talking about. Unfortunately, I fell for it in the moment (yes, how dumb of me). Very similar experience to those before me. Had a coupon for $50 full system clean, and the guy gets here on time and is super friendly. Then he says, well actually for YOUR house the minimum is $500, but what you really need the the $1600 package. Then he called the "main office" within my earshot and said 'we really need to help this lady, she has kids and I've never seen such a dirty system,' etc., etc. So, out of the 'goodness of their hearts' they were willing to lower it to $1000. Absolute rip off and waste of money. My husband bought a groupon deal for $40-$50 to clean 12 vents, 2 mains and 1 return. They gave us a heads up saying if there were more vents or anything they would cost extra. No problem we'll cross that bridge when he gets here. So he comes and counts 15 vents(so 3 extra), 3 mains(1extra), and 3 returns(1extra). He starts rattling off what else is "wrong" with our house and gives us an $1800 quote! Tried to sell us some BS anti nite treatment. Please don't fall for these knuckleheads like we did. Save your money. Its a total waste of time, money and frustration

Had a very nice young man come to do a furnace inspection ($49) and vent cleaning ($39 for 10 vents and one return). The main ducts are not included. In my house(2000sqft) I have two main vents and 2 returns. The extra cost was a little over $200 +the original $39. Fair enough, I get it...there is always something extra that is not included. I feel it would be more honest to include 1 main (every furnace would have this) the 10 vents and one return for more money. There really isn't much of a point to do the vents without d... read more
