I purchased a groupon for $49. The tech counted vents, returns, and trunks. The estimate landed at $394. I said please clean as much as the groupon covered for plus the extra return and we'll call it good. The tech indicated that it would be a bit of a waste. I said OK as I wasn't going to force someone to do work they didn't seem to want/recommend to do, asked for a copy of the estimate and thanked him for his time. Apex Clean Air attempted to defraud us for $4000. Our technician, who said his name was Alex, took an air quality reading before performing our air duct cleaning. The reading was collected in the furthest back bedroom of my home, unsupervised. I never saw the device. A single reading was performed in a single room. I was only shown a photo of the reading on a phone. The reading, which was presented as credible, would imply our air quality was so hazardous as to pose an immediate danger to our three small children. Alex then... read more

I asked the office if they could install a gas valve I had purchased. I told them I wasn't expecting a warranty or that replacement of the valve would necessarily fix the problem of the furnace not cycling on. I was told that it would be no problem and they would charge me hourly to do so without any warranty of course. They were out a week and it was cold but I got on their list for repair. 1. 1. Technician arrived over an hour late. 2. Technician repeatedly told me I did not have to wear my mask as this was my house. Let customers decide if they wish to wear masks. I also do not feel he respected 6 ft of social distancing. 3. Technician attempted to hard sell me on a new furnace and an additional $200 worth of services. I called over a month ago to get an appointment. They sent me an amazing email that went over a lot of the questions and concerns I would have and even made sure to call the evening before to make sure everything was still a good fit for scheduling for 4/23 between 9-10.
