I ordered a rug and received a rug that was 6" in diameter smaller than advertised. The "Custom" non-returnable pad that they sent with it was cut to the size the rug should have been. Initial response from the company to work with me was good, but they have ignored my requests for help and ceased communication. Customer service is abysmal.
Worst company ever. I placed an order yesterday and because I paid with PayPal, PayPal auto filled an address on the order for billing and shipping. There was no order confirmation page where I could review the address prior to finalizing the order, so the order was placed to ship to the wrong location. I emailed their customer support team right away to correct the mistake, but received no response back (mind you, they advertise 24/7 customer support). This morning, I called to follow up and make sure they got the right add... read more
The rugs look beautiful online but my experience with this company was awful. I ordered 2 area rugs in early November 2018 that were listed as in stock and supposedly going to ship in 2-3 business days. Three weeks later the status was still "unshipped". I called customer service during business hours and left a message inquiring. No one called me back. I emailed with my order number and no one responded. I waited another week and contacted my credit card for a chargeback for non-receipt of goods. My credit card company cont... read more
The 9x12 rug I ordered from esalerugs.com is quite unacceptable. It arrived folded in half vertically and then folded several times horizontally. This apparently damaged the matting and after over two months the rug still has not flattened out. There are several ridges running all the way across the rug, it is very uncomfortable to walk on and it looks horrible. I contacted the company and they refuse to do anything to help me stating it was over 30 days since the purchase. I was not informed when I ordered the rug that it w... read more
Two days ago, when we were about to buy a new rug for the great room, when I stumbled upon eSaleRugs ad on the NY Times news site. I looked around, found an exciting mix of prices, sizes and style variety (as well as a really cool tool they have to show prospects what any of their rugs would actually look like in the customer's home, with all furniture in place). I pointed it out to my wife, adding that, before doing anything, do a web search for customer feedback re: this unknown (to us, anyway) rug merchant. Today, she... read more
I ordered two rugs the same color and they were very different shades when they came. After responses that were not relevant to my issue, including work they asked me to do to document the situation, they stopped responding. Many emails were sent with no response. Nice rugs but terrible to deal with them about problems.
We purchased a set of 3 rugs from the website. The entry and hall runners are OK; a little thin for the $. The large 7X10 we purchased for our dining room is complete garbage. After a few months it began to develop rolls; hills and valleys that no amount of placing heavy objects would cure. I finally gave up and bought a new rug elsewhere today and wish I hadn't wasted my money with these people first. :( PS - The "pad" they sell for under their rugs is not really a pad. Its just a mesh to keep the rug from sliding around. ... read more
I have read that this company used to be called Heritage Unlimited Rugs. If that is true beware! Do not believe that they are hand-knotted rugs. After four years my "hand-knotted wool area rug" that I purchased from erugs by Heritage Unlimited (label on the Rug) started shedding dust whenever I vacuumed it. I took it outside and saw what looked like plaster dust coming from inside. I started to rip off the apparent woven backing and found that the rug was not hand knotted at all but heavily glued. The thick glue was now di... read more
A few weeks ago I bought several rugs "on sale," from what seems to be an ONGOING SALE...hmmm...anyway, I liked my rugs and thought I had gotten a great deal. I ended up needing one more smallish rug. It was an Afghan kilim. It smelled like death. It was not a rotten/biological smell, it was a terrible chemical smell. Not plastic, but like a burnt rubber or fuel exhaust smell. It made my nostrils curl and my sinuses burn. The oily smell hung onto the rug and lingered on my hands as if the entire rug had been dipped in some... read more
